What happens when you’re arrested for gun charges?

Gun Possession in CaliforniaCalifornia is known to have some of the nation’s strictest gun laws, and you’ll need a license to purchase a firearm. However, if you have moved to California from out of state as a new resident, then you must do one of the following:
- Complete and submit a new resident report of firearm ownership form, to the California Department of Justice Bureau of Firearms.
- Sell or transfer the firearm to a California licensed firearms dealer.
- Sell or transfer the handgun(s) to a California police or sheriff's department.
